The Basics
Canadian Forces Integrated Relocation Program Directive Always check the policy.
It’s Your Move It’s Your Move will provide you with a wealth of general relocation information.
Funding
The CFIRP has three funding envelopes. It is important that as a member you understand the differences in these funding envelopes and how they may affect you:
Core Component: Funds your basic relocation expenses including the sale of your home, house hunting trip to your new location, buying a new residence, shipping your household goods for you and your family’s relocation.
Custom Component: A very specific funding formula, this money provided by your Department covers the cost of allowable expenses to enhance your move. Any funds remaining after the relocation are returned to the department.
Personalized Component: Your personalized envelope is funded by your posting allowance and any transferable savings or incentives you have earned as defined in the policy. Any unused funds are paid to the transferee.
Service Providers
You are going to need a lot of specialized help during your relocation. The choice of Service Provider is always up to you; however, Brookfield GRS has developed a Third Party Service Provider (TPSP) Directory with: over 5,000 pre-qualified Suppliers maximum fee schedules pre-arranged pre-qualification of services and experience
The TPSP Directory includes: Real Estate Agents Real Estate Appraisers Home Inspectors Lawyers/Notaries Rental Finding Firms
You will only be reimbursed up to the maximum fee schedules for Suppliers.
Your Contacts
Once your file has been authorized, you will be assigned a Brookfield GRS Advisor. This Advisor will guide you through the relocation process.
